Research
Biomedical research leads to better ways to diagnose, treat and prevent heart disease and stroke. It will play a key role in AHA's efforts to reduce coronary heart disease, stroke and risk by 25% by 2010.
American Heart Association-funded research has contributed significantly to such lifesaving discoveries as CPR, pacemakers, bypass surgery, artificial heart valves, microsurgery and life-extending drugs.
