To create and disseminate biological knowledge for the benefit of animals and humans
Programs and Services
The AB Center:
- Provides infrastructure and facilitate interdisciplinary research in animal biology, health and production
- Provides a resource center for development and delivery of instructional and outreach programs in animal biotechnology
- Promotes and facilitates technology transfer and interactions with agribusiness
- Increases effectiveness of faculty and staff recruitment in animal biotechnology
The AB Center is developing a bioinformatics program focused on Comparative and Functional Genomics. Specifically, this program is expected to facilitate the analysis and integration of genotypic and phenotypic data from diverse species under investigation by members of the AB Center. In addition, this resource will facilitate the interaction and cooperation between AB Center researchers and other laboratories working with human, zebrafish, mouse, livestock and companion animals.
