Mission
The mission of the Bioinformatics Summer Institute at the University of Minnesota is to provide the
highest possible quality undergraduate level education and research experiences in
bioinformatics, equipping the new generation of this burgeoning professional community with the
tools for a successful career in bioinformatics.
Education and Research Programs
Workshops-Tutorials
The workshops are designed to provide a thorough coverage of bioinformatics topics, and create
the necessary background for students to obtain a beginning understanding of the area. They will
take place in computer cluster rooms in the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute, with each
student working on a personal computer. Example workshops are:
